Obituary of Kenneth C. Chriscaden
Kenneth C. Chriscaden, Jr., 65, of West Chazy, NY, formerly of Jamestown and Ashville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY.
He was born in Jamestown on December 17, 1952, the son of Patricia Reed Chriscaden and the late Kenneth C. Chriscaden, Sr.
Ken was a graduate of Panama Central School and received degrees from Jamestown Community College. He also served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman First Class (E6) from 1972 until 1974, as well as the Navy Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1993.
Ken was most recently employed as nursing supervisor at the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital in Berlin, VT. He previously worked at Warren State Hospital, WCA Hospital and Warren General Hospital.
Ken enjoyed photography and would frequently stop on his drives to take a picture of nature. He was a history enthusiast and enjoyed collecting items from American history. A lover of trains, Ken also enjoyed collecting model trains as well as antique railroad items. He was very outgoing, frequently going to the movies or seeing a concert. He loved his pets and would often document his cat, Mittens and her various adventures.
In addition to his mother of Youngsville, PA, Ken is survived by his wife, Diane Schaefer Chriscaden, whom he married August 21, 2010; three daughters: Christine (Joe) Forsyth of Buffalo, NY, Katie Chriscaden of Jamestown and Becky Chriscaden of Celebration, FL; two grandchildren: Abby and Luke Forsyth of Buffalo; and a nephew, Mark (Adrin) Fisher of Fairmount, WV.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2005; and a sister, Cindy Fisher in 1987.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
