Obituary of Walter V. "Wally" Person

Walter V. "Wally" Person, 58, of Jamestown, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 at UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born February 15, 1960 in Los Angeles, CA, a son of the late Richard J. and Mary Lou Coan Person.

A graduate of Jamestown High School, Wally served in the US Air Force from 1978 to 1980.

He was a master upholsterer and had been employed by Speedy Auto, Holiday Harbor and Lakewood Upholstery.

Wally loved music, enjoyed the lake, boating and softball, and forever had a soft spot in his heart for animals.

He is survived by his soul mate of 25 years, Carla Havers, as well as her two daughters and grandchildren; three brothers: Richard S., Brian K. and Robert J. Person; two sisters: Lorrie Strong and Shari Flannery; his step-mother, Arlene Person; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Timothy Stahlman will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service, from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
