Obituary of Sarah Sherrard

Sarah K. Sherrard, 75, of 57B Jackson Avenue, Jamestown, died Wednesday October 10, 2018, in her home. A resident of Sugar Grove much of her life, she was born July 29, 1943, a daughter of the late Walter and Ella Russell Chase. She was a 1961 graduate of Youngsville High School and has been a very active member of the alumni group. Much of her working years were spent in retail having been employed by JC Penny, Walmart, Hallmark Store and the Basket Company. In earlier years she had worked at MRC. She was a member of Church On the Rock, Hill and Dale Garden Club and Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and watching her grandchildren's sporting events. She loved her friends and neighbors. Surviving are two children Michael (Jennifer) Sherrard of Warren, PA and Robert (Tammie) Sherrard of Youngsville, PA; four grandchildren Kurtis, Samuel, Bryce and Mallory Sherrard; two brothers Alan Chase of Little Meadows, PA and Dennis Chase of Monroe, NC; a special friend James Defrisco; aunts and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Sherrard, whom she married August 11, 1962 and who died October 7, 1997; a granddaughter Lexi Sherrard; a sister Susan McCollough and a nephew Daryl Chase. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 10-noon Saturday in the funeral home.
