I didn’t get to see Great-Grandma-Grout as much as I would have wanted, but the time I did get with her was filled with love and affection. Whenever you spoke to her, you could tell she was sincere and really cared about each and every person. She was the kindest most selfless person I knew, and I will always miss her.

My dear Ken, I am so sorry you have lost your beloved mother. Her death leaves a large void in a world that needs her joy and spirit. She possessed a love of life that was an inspiration to me and countless others. I remember vividly how proud she was of our plays, especially the lead actor! She would beam and extol the wonders of what we had accomplished on that little stage in Salamanca while your dad would smile and nod knowingly. But your mother’s true gift to the world was, of course, the love she gave to her children. I know how much you and your family will miss her, as will so many of us, but her legacy lives on not only through you but also through those of us who knew her and had the privilege to experience her joy. One of my angels has passed away. One of the most inclusive and joyfilled women in my life, Lois embraced life with a smile and optimism. Her selflessness towards those in need gave my life some amazing perspective. To the entire Grout family, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved. She is now in the arms of the Father having lived as He directed. I know she will be missed by you all and my deepest regards and sympathy to each and every one of you.

Our sincere sympathy to the entire Grout family. Out thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time of healing and hope that you celebrate her wonderful life. I first met Lois almost ten years ago when she came to a Thanksgiving dinner with her family that I hosted. I grew very fond of her the very minute I was introduced to her. Her warm smile, her funny and warm laugh, her intelligent conversation and her love for her entire family. I will miss you Lois, but will always think of you every time I wear my hat, scarf and gloves that you knitted for me as a Christmas gift that first year. With all our love Lois and to your family!
