Obituary of Nancy N. Price

Nancy N. Price, 96, a resident of 57 Gordon St. for 48 years, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 in the Lutheran Retirement Home, where she had resided since June 2016. Nancy was the widow of Charles H. Price, whom she married November 17, 1945 and who died June 17, 2011. Nancy was born in Buffalo, NY on March 28, 1922, the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Marjorie B. Nelson. After living eight years in Orchard Park, NY, the Nelson family moved to Jamestown in 1930. She attended Jamestown schools and was a 1940 graduate of Jamestown High School, and after attended Colby Sawyer College. Nancy belonged to the First Presbyterian Church and later in life was also a member of their Circle study group. She was a long time member of Creche, Inc. and in earlier years did volunteer work at WCA Hospital as a gray lady and helped in the snack shop. She also helped with the auction committee for Country Capers. Nancy always enjoyed hosting parties and dinners at her Gordon Street home. She lived for holiday family get-togethers, and also cooking great meals for friends and her group of bridge ladies. Nancy is survived by two sons: Charles N. (Candy) Price of New York City and James B. Price of Jamestown; three granddaughters: Jennifer (Jim) Vogrin and Courtney (Brian) Bush, both of Medina, OH and Carly Price of Cincinnati, OH; and five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob and Beckett Vogrin of Medina, and Emma and Charlie Bush of Medina. In addition to her parents and husband, Charles, Nancy was preceded in death by her first born son, Wilson "Trip" Price on December 15, 1999 and by her younger brother, John B. Nelson on March 30, 2002. A private family graveside service will be held in Lake View Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will not be observed. Please no memorials in her name - she had a wonderful life.
