We lived across the street on Wilson Place sometime in the 70's. But it wasn't until 2006 when i started attending Christ First and we got to talking at the rummage sale and we realized who each of us was and we shared alot of memories. She was always wonderful to sit and talk too, about anything. She will be missed.

Dear friends,
I remember your mother so well, both from when I was a child and also later in life as she was so kind to my mother. A random memory popped into my mind. It was a hot summer in Jamestown, and there were quite a few kids playing on the street. Your mom told everyone to go home and get a piece of paper. We all did. She showed us how to fold it into a fan, and told us to take it to our mothers and tell them this would help them stay cool. We all did. I remember my mother being quite delighted by the whole thing and sharing her fan with Mrs. Groves next door. Your mother was always a part of life on our street.
I also am very grateful for the great deal of time she spent with my mother in her later years when mom could not walk. Mom told me many times of how happy she was to go over to the Smiths. Besides the chat and company, your mom and dad went out of their way to help her in and seat her in the back room. These moments did so much to keep her spirits up.
Of course there are many memories from church, and snowy days, and the wonderful pots of soup your mom made. I'm so sorry for your deep loss. Please accept my sincerest condolences and prayers.
Your friend,
Evan

To: Esther's Family
I write as one who was blessed to have Esther serve as a secretary in the office of the United Methodist District Superintendent of the then Jamestown District. In fact, it was my privilege to interview her and hire her to that position which went way beyond secretarial and became an administrative assistant to me and some who followed me in the office of district superintendent. It would not be an overstatement to say that Esther's careful work and support allowed me to fulfill the responsibilities of the office of DS and also maintain some sense of normalcy as a husband and father of two children who were growing through important stages of their lives at that time. She was a true partner in ministry and the United Methodist churches and pastors were well served by her. I am grateful for her faithful service and the spirit in which she fulfilled her responsibilities.
I send greetings and condolences to her family. I thank God for her life and trust that all of you will remember her with gratitude for her life and the love she had for all of you. We are blessed to be able to release her into the loving presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I remember Esther from CVCS and what a beautiful soul she was, always so quiet and willing to be helpful. She will be missed by her family I'm sure.
