Obituary of James R. Fusco

James R. Fusco, 66, of Colfax Street, Jamestown, passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019 in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. He was born March 25, 1952 in Jamestown the son of the late Richard V. and Kathryn Merchant Fusco. Jim was a 1970 graduate of Jamestown High School, and owned and operated Fusco's Auto Body Inc. since the 1960's. From 1970 until 1979, Jim served as a Sergeant in the US Army Reserves. He was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Jim was very family oriented and loved spending time with his family in Florida attending the Daytona 500. Jim was an avid NASCAR fan of Dale Jr. He especially loved his grandson, Preston, and would do anything to help anyone. Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Janet Mason Fusco; a son, Richard J. Fusco and a daughter, Jennifer L. Fusco, both of Jamestown; his grandson Preston James Fusco; a sister, Barbara Singer of Allegany, NY; a sister in law, Roslyn (Scott) McIntyre of Florida; two nephews, Mark Singer of Colorado; Justin (Tiffany) Singer of Ohio; four nieces, Joelle Singer of Buffalo; Stacey Cobbs, Amy Lynn, and Sarah McIntyre all of Florida; and four great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in law, Gary Singer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday January 30, 2019 in Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday January 29, 2019 in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led by Rev. Mende at 1:45 p.m.
