Obituary of Thomas M. Lovvorn
Thomas M. Lovvorn, 70, of 664 Baker Street Ext., died peacefully Sunday February 3, 2019, in Warren Manor.
He was born September 28, 1948, in Patuxent River, MD, the son of the late Thomas R. and Dolores Jones Lovvorn.
He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Liftech Handling as a service technician for 27 years. He earlier was co-owner of Norfolk Equipment Company in Norfolk, Virginia.
Tom could fix anything and was called on to repair cars, trains and anything mechanical. He could always figure it out and took great pride in his abilities. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, flying RC airplanes, boats and restoring antique cars. He was also very patriotic.
He loved and cherished his family especially his grandson Taige
Surviving are his wife of nearly 40 years, Virginia Ferrara Lovvorn, whom he married February 18, 1979; two children Thomas Ray Lovvorn II of San Francisco, CA and Annmarie (Ty Bonfiglio-Davis) Lovvorn of Kennedy; a grandson Taige Michael Eckwahl of Kennedy; two sisters Leona Raye (Johnny) Griffith of Cape Charles, VA and Shannon Lovvorn of Virginia Beach, VA and his dog Hunter who was very special to him.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Darrell Duffy will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
