Obituary of Nancy L. Johnston

Nancy L. Johnston, 75, of Lakewood, NY, died on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born May 10, 1943 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Mearl and Helen Sager. A 1961 graduate of Sherman Central School, Nancy worked in business and sales throughout her career, including for several area banks, Herbert Shoes and as manager of Vitamin World in Lakewood. She was also a member of the Moose and Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Nancy had a love for all animals, walking, the beach and feeding the birds. She is survived by her daughter, Teri (Steve) Vinciguerra of Mayville, NY; a sister, Gale (Richard) Frey of Panama, NY and a brother, Kim (Kimberly) Sager of Columbus, IN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Button in 2014; her companion, Kraig Werlin in 2015; and her kitty, whom she loved very much, in January of this year. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, with Nancy's niece, Sarah Burton officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
