Obituary of Shirley Kay McCanna

Shirley Kay Davis McCanna, 79, formerly of Sunnyside Road, Greenhurst, died Monday March 25, 2019, in the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA. She was born September 11, 1939, in Warren, PA, a daughter of the late Ross and Myrtle Williams Davis. A 1957 graduate of Youngsville High School, she attended Indiana State Teachers College where she majored in Home Economics. Prior to her retirement in 1997 she was employed by Blair Corporation in the Irving Plant as an office worker. Following retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband and wintering in Florida. She loved to knit, sew and quilt especially for children. She was a member of Harmony Historical Society Quilters and The Piece and Harmony Quilt Guild. Surviving are her son Steven Reynolds of Geneva, NY; four stepchildren Steven (Nancy) McCanna of Deberry, FL, Sherry Schutter of Jamestown, Daniel (Janet) McCanna of Dewittville and Thomas (Tricia) McCanna of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren Tod and Alex Schutter, Steven and Eric McCanna, Joshua, Nicholas, Marissa and Patti McCanna; two great grandsons Zachary and Jack McCanna and her very special friend Samantha Moore. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years Richard McCanna, whom she married June 25, 1988 and who died November 8, 2014. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday April 1, 2019, in the Lind Funeral hOme. Deacon Daniel Tyler will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
