Obituary of Sandra M. Lindquist

Sandra M. "Sandy" Lindquist, 73, of 256 Ericsson Rd., Kennedy, NY and Myrtle Beach, SC passed away peacefully April 8, 2019 in her home after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born April 4, 1946 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Harold R. and Edith Swan Gerring. She attended Bemus Point Elementary School, was a 1964 graduate of Bemus Point High School and attended Jamestown Community College. For many years she worked as receptionist, secretary, and book keeper with her husband Bruce at their business, Southern Tier Wood Products, Inc. where she always had the coffee pot on. In earlier years she worked as a receptionist for optometrist Dr. Martin Costello and Jamestown Finishes. Sandy was a member of the Kennedy Mother's Club & Kennedy Fire Department Auxiliary where she held various offices. Sandy especially enjoyed her family, their country home, trips out west, the ocean and watching the dolphins from the balcony in Myrtle Beach. A true dog lover, her dogs were special in her heart and life. She will now be with Fonzi, Frit, Fritzi, & Dexter. The family especially, Sandy's husband, would like to publicly thank the doctors at the Dent Neurologic Institute, Dr. Mario Gentile, Dr. Vejendla, and the team at Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care (especially Lori, Jessica, Julie, and Jim) for all of their care, support, and help. Sandy is survived by her husband of 51 years, W. Bruce Lindquist; two sons Douglas (Tina) Lindquist their sons Zachary and Cole, of Bemus Point, NY, and Craig (Katey) Lindquist and their children William, Ben, Nicholas and Elizabeth, of North Warren, PA; a sister Shirley (James) Pillar, of Russell, Pa.; and a brother Robert (Meredith) Gerring of Bemus Point, NY and several cousins, nieces, & nephews She was proceeded in death by her parents. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Following the service a Celebration of Life will be held in the Castle Room of War Vets Recreation. Interment will be in the Myrtle Cemetery, Clarks Corners. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
