A lifelong area resident, he was born December 5, 1923 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late John S. and Jennie Amatuzzo LaMancuso.
He was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving from September 17, 1943 to November 3, 1945 during World War II, and was a participant in the Allied Invasion at Anzio in the spring of 1944. During his tour of duty he received the Purple Heart for being wounded in action, the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.

He cherished and was the force behind the annual LaMancuso summertime barbeque and Christmas Eve family celebrations, where he spent most of his time nurturing the infants and children of his extended family. He was the definition of "jack of all trades", and enjoyed the better part of his 35 years in retirement ensuring the upkeep of his children's homes, while being an active participant in the developing lives of his cherished grandchildren.

(Rhonda) LaMancuso of Bemus Point, NY, Michael (Dr. Rosann Lana) LaMancuso of Snyder, NY, six grandchildren; Dr. Kate (Dr. Joseph Holler) LaMancuso of Bristol, VT, Joseph (Lindsey) Vitello of Falconer, NY, Alison (Mark) Tortelli of Lancaster, NY, Julie LaMancuso, Michael LaMancuso, Joseph LaMancuso all of Snyder, two great grandchildren; Julian Vitello, Sienna Tortelli and his two brothers; John A.
