Thoughts about Bea Smith.
Bea was a beautiful person who loved Jesus with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength.
When that cancer diagnosis came the first time, I prayed so hard for Bea to live and not die. I watched her “dig in” and surge forward, personally I think the cancer cells just got intimidated and gave up! I praise God for Bea’s Hezekiah moments that gave her many, many, more years.
Bea was such a beautiful woman with multiple talents that she used beautifully to Glorify God. Her gardens “spoke” and ministered to me personally.
They say you can tell a lot about a Mama by looking in the eyes of her children and that certainly speaks for it self.
I know the promise we have as Christians that Bea is finally free with Jesus but my heart breaks for the entire Smith Family.
Forsake not grieving for in that rests comfort.
Much love,
Sharon Pawlak

I don't even know where to begin! My Aunt Bea was my everything, My Mom, My Best Friend, My Go to for Everything! She Is the only person in my life that whether she agreed with me or not, simply gave me her advice & always would say, "But it's up to you, it's your life, " I think it's a great idea, or I would do it this way! She NEVER judged me or made me feel inadequate in any way for any choices or decisions I made in my life!
For as far back as I can remember, Every chance I got I was at her house spending theday, night, weekend, as much as I could, I also remember when her & Ed first moved on 11th Street, my mom tried telling me that I couldn't go over there anymore because she didn't like the neighborhood, but I didn't let it stop me, Lol, I would tell her I was going to a friend's house & go there anyway.
I had so many people, including my husband that said he swore we were sisters or she was my real mom because we were so much alike it was crazy! Lol !
I can say that everything I am, all my strength, everything I have become in my life I owe it all to her, & couldn't be more proud to take after anyone in my life! Aunt Bea, I'm gonna be so lost without you for sure, we were like "Left Brain, Right Brain!" But I am going to go on with what I have left of my life & be the strong person YOU made me to be! I promiseto make you proud & like you told me last time we talked, you will Always be with me, ALWAYS, & that raindrop that smacks me upside my head, or water that rushes between my toes, whatever it might be, & I'll carry you in my heart FOREVER!! & ALWAYS be your "BEANER"
There is no better song ever written that says it all & that , "There You'll Be" By Faith Hill.
I Love YOU Always!!!!!!

At such a time as this, the Family of Sister Lorena L. Smith would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to you the family. We realize that words may seem empty as you are grieving the loss of our loved one.
In our times of loss, we can sometimes find ourselves overwhelmed with feelings of confusion and sorrow. Hopelessness and despair may well up in our hearts, and it can seem as though comfort is beyond our reach, but as Jesus Christ tells us, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)
We want to assure you that you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time, and I know the same God who has helped you with past trials, will be ever present during this one as well.
In Loving Memory

I met "Bea" in the Hospital last October. She was my roommate for two days.
Even though she was ill, she was so full of enthusiasm for life. She told me about her wonderful children, husband, pets, gardening and painting. She had a true passion for life and her loves. It was an honor to be with her.
