Dearest Sheldon family, Its with deepest sympathy and sorrow that Vern Sr's life was taken too soon. He was a funny and all around great guy who will be missed by so many!! Those of us who grew up in Panama all our lives I'm sure have a fond memory or two of him. Let's keep those memories near and dear to our hearts always!! Karen, Scoobie, Darcie, Zach, Jim Bob, Lucas and Andy....you're in my thoughts and prayers!!! I'm so sorry for the loss of your great Dad. I'm sure Pam was up there with arms wide open to see her big brother again, as you all will be reunited someday!!! RIP Big Vern!!! See you on the other side.

I was so saddened to read of Vernon's passing. As I read the words it brought back memories of Niobe Baptist Church and the Sheldon family. I remember Vern's showing me his scar from open heart surgery. How great was his recovery. Even though many years have past since I last spoke to Vernon, his great parents and his siblings their place in my heart will never be replaced. Vernon will be missed

My sincere condolences to the Sheldon Family. Vern was truly one of the "good guys". From the time he and the other guys from Panama Central School were able to drive, 16 years old or so, they were at my parents house in Bear Lake, nearly every night playing cards, playing music, singing and having a good ole (clean) time. I was only 5, but they treated me like a little brother. Yes there was a lot of teasing, but I went everywhere with them and their muscle cars. Even at 140 mph. That Blue 'Cuda was fast. I don't think he ever lost a race. Vern and the rest of the guys in the "Bear Lake Gang" were good to me and my sister growing up. I thank he and them for the memories. If there is a "Cuda" area in heaven, I am sure Vern is sitting in his Blue 383 'Cuda right now, with a big grin on his face. Rest in Peace my friend. Ken Crosby

My condolences to the Sheldon family. I knew Vern through junior and senior high school. We were not close friends but we had one significant issue in common, a heart murmur. Vern got his murmur fixed and I am still waiting to fix mine. Over the 5 years of school when we would see each other in the hall one of us would look and smile and say to the other, "How's your heart?" After all of these years, on the way to visit my cardiologist, I think of Vern. RIP heart brother.
