Obituary of Dolores E. Carlson
Dolores E. Carlson, 90, of Niobe Rd. Panama, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, in St. Vincent's Health Center, Erie, PA.
She was the widow of Marvin A. Carlson whom she married December 26, 1959 and who died May 15, 2000.
A Niobe, NY resident for many years, she was born May 10, 1929 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late George C. and Ruby E. Johnson Eckert.
She was a graduate of the Panama Central School and was a longtime member of the Niobe Baptist Church, where she was the church secretary and Sunday school teacher for many years.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her home and spending time in her garden.
Before her retirement years she had worked for the Jamestown Mutual Insurance Company and in earlier years for the Ashville Grocery Store.
Surviving are her children; Jonathan (Bethe) Carlson of Watts Flats, NY, Deborah (John) Siggins of Busti, NY, two grandchildren; Daniel (Megan Griswold) Siggins, Catherine Siggins both of Busti and her brother, George Eckert of South Hampton, NJ.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father George C. Eckert, her mother, Ruby E. Markham, and two sisters, Doris Sanders and Joan E. Eckert.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Hadley, pastor of the Niobe Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery, Niobe, NY.
Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Friday in the funeral home.
