Obituary of Delores M. Adams
Delores M. Adams, 89, of 2109 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, formerly of 270 Manchester Road, Jamestown, went into the loving arms of Jesus, with her loving family around her, Saturday evening, June 8, 2019 while at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Her last moments were sad, yet very beautiful.
She was the widow of Oliver L. "Ollie" Adams, whom she married June 5, 1954 and who died April 26, 1996.
Delores was born in Jamestown on February 24, 1930 and was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Bennett Berggren.
She was an active member of Kiantone Congregational Church where she was very involved in the Ladies Aid. An avid crocheter, she was known for her doilies and all of the blankets she made for every one of her grandchildren.
Delores enjoyed watching sports, was a huge Notre Dame fan, and closely followed her Buffalo Sabres and Bills. She absolutely loved her family and all of the fun she enjoyed with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Delores will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend; as she would often say, "Skol".
Surviving are three children: Diana Adams of Cary, NC, George (Laurie) Adams of Jamestown and Sharpsburg, GA, and Vicky (David) Lawson of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Jeremy (Amber) Howard of Austin, TX, Joshua Howard of Apex, NC, Jessica Howard of Cary, NC, Jared (Ashley) Adams of Senoia, GA, Nichole Adams of Atlanta, GA, Jonathon (Carolyn) Lawson of Jamestown and Tyler (Sherry) Lawson of Gerry, NY; six great-grandchildren: Boyd Oliver Howard, Lillian Kay Adams, Ella Grace Adams, Anna Kate Adams, Elliott David Lawson, Aviel Paul Muscarella, as well as two more great-grandchildren expected this fall; and her two great-grand dogs, Bella and Miller.
In addition to her husband, Ollie, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard "Lenny" Berggren.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15th at Lake View Cemetery. The Rev. Mel McGinnis will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
Memorials may be made to Kiantone Congregational Church, 646 Kiantone Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701; or to a Charity of one's choice.
