Obituary of Elpidio Rojas-Cruz

Elpidio Rojas Cruz, 89, of Jamestown, died June 8, 2019, in his home. A Jamestown resident the last 7 years, he was born December 9, 1929 in the Dominican Republic, a son of the late Ramon Cruz and Juana Evangelito Rojas. He had worked in the construction industry for many years. Surviving are two children Amado Valdez Rojas of the Dominican Republic and Milagros Matos of Jamestown; several grandchildren and great grandchildren including Joshua Matos of Jamestown and a brother Mario Olivares of the Dominican Republic. He was preceded in death by his wife Cristina Kelly Johnson; a son Juan Alguile Valdez Rojas and a sister Carmella Beato. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 851 Forest Avenue, Jamestown. Visitation will not be observed.
