Obituary of Larry W. Ford
Larry W. Ford, 73, of 119 Weeks Street, passed away Wednesday June 19, 2019, in UPMC Hamot.
Moving to this area in 1951, he was born June 7, 1946, in Pell City, Alabama, a son of the late Henry Ford and Bernice Canada Ford Sperry.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Crawford Furniture Manufacturing for 40 years as a foreman. Following retirement he worked for Wal-Mart as a door greeter for 8 years.
He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing bingo.
Surviving are his wife Karen Carlson Ford, whom he married November 21, 1979; three children Larry (Sarah Pate) Phillips of Lakewood, Christine (Calvin) Chiffin of Jamestown and Richard Carlson of Jamestown; grandchildren Haley (Blake Schrope) Ford, Carter Chiffin, Destiny Phillips, Hanna Phillips, Zooey Pate, Dustin Phillips, Ashley Phillips and one on the way and two sisters Bonnie Whalen of Bemus Point and Tammy (Bob) Kester of Westfield.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Ford.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Fluvanna Community Church. Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate.
Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
