Obituary of Lois N. Hitchcock

Lois N. Hitchcock, 88, of 3036 Busti-Stillwater Road, Jamestown, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at home with her family by her side. She was born March 31, 1931, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Fred and Alice Eklund McGraw. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Persell School as a secretary. Lois was a member of Busti Church of God where she was very active in the Food Pantry. Her and her late husband, Glenn, sponsored children thru World Vision and Children of Promise thru the Church of God. She will be remembered of her generosity and her love of her children and grandchildren which she loved to spoil. Lois is survived by her children: Carol (Walter) Sheldon, Laurel (Brian) Lees, Crystal (Jeff Nordine) Olson, Catherine (David) Frederes, Alice Haglund; her grandchildren: Daniel (fiancé Donne Black) Sheldon, Janelle Sheldon, Joshua (Rebecca) Lees, Elizabeth (Erick) VanDuyne, Rachel (Mike) McSparron, Lorraine (Dominic) Martinelli, Shari (Ed) Bowers, Amanda (Jonathan) Todd, Ashley Frederes, Kimberly (fiancé Javon Keyes) Haglund, Michael (Chianne) Haglund; and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn L. Hitchcock, who she married Dec. 17, 1955; a daughter Lynda Hitchcock; a great grandson Nathan Potts; brothers James and Howard McGraw; and sisters Jane McGraw and Betty Nobbs. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Smith, of the Busti Church of God, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday.
