I served with David at fort Benning ga in 64-65. I owe so much to David, photography, books, equestrian, and most of all a positive attitude. David encouraged me to go to collage after service, which lead to many great things.
We worked weekends a the fort stables. He had a horse named Bay Blitz and I took care of the rental horses. The only time I ever saw David just the least bit upset was when he was in a equestrian event and I was to film it and I ended up taking more still photos than film. I once painted a horse for him, not so good doing it on a bunk bed. I lost touch when I went off to Vietnam.
David you broaden my vision so much, see you later. Love Jack

Dear Susan and Family,
Know that I continue to think good thoughts for all of you. The only memories I have of Dave are truly good ones. Always the smile and positive thoughts! The times working with him on the JHS Musicals were the best. He sincerely loved his work and his good energy was infectious. I'm thankful for his being a member of my theater family.
Much love,
Keith

Mr. Hedberg was my teacher at Washington Jr. High in about 1970-71. I loved his class because he was so wonderfully engaging. I particularly remember his efforts to bring Homer's "Odyssey " to life. To this day, nearly 50 years later, I remember him fondly every time I see a rosey-fingered dawn. Rest in Peace.

I had both Mr & Mrs Hedberg at Washington and they were 2 of my favorite teachers! Later on I had the privilege of seeing them again, over the years, when I came back to NY for visits. They use to bowl with my parents, before they passed & I saw them a couple of times at Chautauqua. Both of them were always so kind & welcoming and Mr Hedberg will be missed. I am so very sorry for your loss!!

Sue, I cannot express the amount of sadness I feel seeing David's obituary. For some reason thought of you two the other day and have over the years.
Have great memories of you both when you moved to Front Street and my brother Mike and I pretended we were your children. Lol I have a favorite picture that David or you took during that time. Fond memories of you and I at Lincoln, working on the yearbook and class. Fun picture of us in one of the yearbooks.
You two made quite the impression in my life and will be forever grateful for your kindness and patience.
God Bless you and your family.
With deep and heartfelt sympathy,
