Obituary of Kathleen Knight

Kathleen Knight, 77 of Jamestown, NY formerly of Sherman, NY passed away Wednesday July 31, 2019 in her home. She was born September 17, 1941 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Arthur and Ellen Rodgers Hartley. Kathleen was a 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School where she was a member of the JBF Sorority. For many years, she worked at the Farm Credit Office in Mayville. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had a way of making everyone she encountered feel special and never met a stranger. She was totally devoted to her family and they adored her for that. They were the love and purpose of her life: her daughter, Julie M. Korban of Jamestown; two sons, Timothy P. (DeAnn) Kinght of Raleigh, NC and W. Bradley (Theresa) Knight of Greenhurst; six grandchildren, Carly Korban, Connor Korban, Lauren Knight, Calvin Knight, Columb Knight, and Katelyn Knight. She is also survived by two sisters, Jeannie Shepardson of Bemus Point, NY and Mary Orlowsky of Rochester, NY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Knight whom she married August 6, 1960 and who died February 11, 2015. All are welcome to a celebration of Kathleen's life at 2 p.m. Thursday August 8, 2019 at the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Kathleen's name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
