Obituary of Katherine J. Finley

Katherine J. "Kay" Finley, 86, of Jamestown, passed away at 11:17 pm Thursday, August 22, 2019, in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born August 6, 1933 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Clarence H. and Doris M. Huntington Bromley. Kay was a 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned her bachelor's of science degree from Ryder University. Before her retirement she was a Senior Customer Service Representative for Truck-Lite, Inc. for 23 years. She had previously worked for the Empire State Life Insurance Company for 22 years. She was a longtime active member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she served with the Bishop Overs Guild and worked at the St Luke's Thrift Store. She was also a member of the Zi Beta Zeta Sorority. Surviving are her sister, Carol Rosedahl of FL,; her sister-in -law, Elizabeth (Leonard) Nordin of Jamestown; her niece, Diane Cooksey of Spartanburg, SC,; and two nephews, Dr. Jeffery (Dawn) Nordin of Grayslake, IL, Daniel (Maria) Nordin of Dunbarton, NH. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Finley whom she married May 13, 1961 and who died unexpectedly January 12, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday in the St. Luke's Episcopal Church Chapel. The Rev. Luke F. Fodor, Rector will officiate. Inurnment will be in the St. Luke's Church Columbarium.
