Obituary of Bonnie L. Hinson

Bonnie L. Hinson, 77, of Route 430, Bemus Point, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at UPMC Chautauqua. She was the wife of Joseph W. Hinson whom she married June 26, 1982. She was born in Jamestown on March 25, 1942 and was a daughter of the late Roland M. and Lois Breed Dahlquist. Bonnie was a well known area cook, in earlier years at the former Chautauqua Publick Inn and then for many years at the War Vets Recreation. She loved any time spent with her grandchildren, and always enjoyed watching football and NASCAR. In addition to her husband Joe, she is survived by a son, Bil Nelson of Panama and step-daughter, Jamie (Chris) Parnell of Marrero, LA; seven grandchildren: Jared Nelson of Seattle, WA, Jadon Nelson of Panama, and Christian, Sophia, Emili, Lucas and Alela Parnell, all of Marrero, LA; her sister, Kathy (Weldon) Barden of Fluvanna; as well as several nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790; or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
