Obituary of Burdette "Bruce" Hook
Burdette B. "Bruce" Hook, 78, of 6195 Ramsey Road, Ashville, died Tuesday September 17, 2019, in his home.
He was born October 29, 1940, in Warren, PA, a son of the late Burdette and Ellen Hayes Hook.
He was a 1958 graduate of Warren Area High School and earned a degree from Jamestown Community College in 1960.
Prior to his retirement in 1995, he owned and operated Johnson Supply, Inc. In earlier years he worked as a production designer for Art Metal, assistant plant manager for Pennco Industries, project engineer for Dahlstrom Manufacturing and plant manager and sales for Bailey Manufacturing.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association since 1952, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club since 1964 and a life member of the North American Hunting Club.
Bruce loved all outdoor activities. He will be remembered as saying, "work hard, play hard and always have faith in tomorrow."
Surviving are two children John Hook of Ashville and Sandra (David) Bagley Allis of Cuba, NY; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Whittaker Hook in 2002; a daughter Debra Hemmis in 2003 and three brothers Reid Anderson, Ronald Hook and Duane Kittner.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA.
Friends will be received from 4-6 Monday and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday in the funeral home.
