It is with a very sad heart that I am just now seeing of Miriam’s passing. I have been her hairdresser for many years, during the summers while she was at Chautauqua institution. When she didn’t come last summer, I didn’t think too much of it because of Covid. I have looked her up, but never noticed her obituary. I’m preparing for my summer and, of course, immediately thought of Miriam. As I looked her up, I mournfully see her obituary. I looked forward to the summers when I would see her for her hair appointments and chat with her about Chautauqua and her cat. I will miss her dearly always. With great sympathy to her family and friends, I pray she is resting in the peace of our Lord, as I am as sure as I can be, that she is. Thank you, Miriam, for your presence in my life- I will see you again one day.

Miriam was my good friend. We had many fun years in New York visiting museums, going to the opera and Carnegie Hall, walking in Central Park, shopping, taking in what the city had to offer, Monday nights at Bible Study Fellowship and many lunches after church at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian. I miss her terribly, I finally sat in our regular spot at church, center near the front. Since she left I have sat elsewhere. Peace to her family and memory.

Miriam was my Sunday School teacher at First Covenant Church. She was a tremendous role model not only for my religious upbringing but also for her teaching capabilities. God bless you Miriam and thank you for everything. Susan Sandbloom Jones

Miss Coleman was my kindergarten and first grade teacher at East Jamestown. Her love for and devotion to her students inspired me to become a teacher and reading specialist. Thank you for your role in molding my life. RIP
