Mike and Jim,
I want to express my condolences on your mother's passing. I have many fond memories of her and our families get together s. She was truly an inspiration to many over the course of her life. Even though I was away from Jamestown for many years, my parents would always keep me posted on how she was doing, as they always exchanged letters and cards. In my scrapbook, I still have pictures from scouting, picnics etc., with your family. I live in Forida now, but will be thinking of you as you celebrate her life and the many wonderful things she did. God Bless.

Mrs. Bryner was my 5th grade teacher. She was tough, she was fair & she was awesome! She was very disciplined & expected none the less from her students. I came to appreciate her more & more as years went by in my life. She loved education & she wanted her students to learn as much as they could. The greatest thing she taught me however was not in a text book. It was respect & patriotism along with compassion. She was my teacher on November 22,1963. I will never forget a moment of it because of her witness. It came across the loud speaker that President John F Kennedy had been shot & killed in Dallas, Texas. She was standing by desk. She froze in place. Tears ran down her face as she talked to us about what a sad day this was for America & that a man who loved his country had been taken way too soon. You could have heard a pin drop. She had us put our heads down on our desk & we all knew she was weeping. That day I saw a woman who was a true American. I have thought of her so often & have shared that memory of her with our children & grandchildren. They all know of Mrs Bryner & how she taught more than just subjects!
