Obituary of Carol J. Bloomberg-Fox

Carol Joy Bloomberg-Fox, was called by Father God early Nov 12, 2019. Carol was cared for by Grandson Todd Bloomberg many years before her move to Heritage Green this past year which is where she passed to Her Lord Jesus Christ.. A lifelong area resident, she was born Dec 30, 1928 to the late Raymond O. Peterson and Vivian (Huckleberry) Peterson. She was past Manager of the Toy Dept at Sears Roebuck in both the Jamestown and Lakewood stores. Carol also worked at the telephone company as an operator, and transitioned to administrative work before retirement. For many years she was proprietor of Carol's Cloth Corner, Young Street in Fluvanna. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and painting still life in oils. Her yard had an amazing array of flowers, and winters she fed every bird and critter in the area. Carol was preceded in death by her Husband Robert M. Fox, brothers, Richard, Victor and infant Lloyd Peterson. She is survived by her sister Janice Hagglund, The Woodlands, Lakewood NY, brothers; Kenneth Peterson, Greenhurst; Stanley (Cathy) Peterson, Loveland CO.; her sons Douglas (Joan) Bloomberg, Huntsville, Alabama; Wayne (Carol) Bloomberg, Tampa Florida; and Keith Bloomberg, Steamburg NY; grandchildren, Chris Bloomberg, Tampa, FL.; Kevin (Lisa) Bloomberg, Brandon,FL.; David (Erica) Bloomberg,; Buffalo, NY; Melissa Bennet, Jamestown; Todd Bloomberg, Fluvanna; plus, many Great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fluvanna Free Library, 3532 Fluvanna Ave. Ext, Jamestown, NY 14701.
