Obituary of Richard F. Fahey

Richard F. Fahey, 87 of Jamestown NY, the beloved husband of Connie Ciancio Fahey, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday November 17, 2019. He was born May 9, 1932, in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Gertrude Conley Fahey. Richard was a member of the first graduating class from Timon High School in Buffalo, NY. He was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was awarded a Medal of Citation and a Peace Medal from The Republic of South Korea. He made a trip back to South Korea in 2013 and was overcome by the expressions of gratitude and appreciation that South Korean people and their government paid to the veterans. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Bethlehem Steel as a supervisor. Richard was a very kind, loving man, who was always eager to help wherever and whenever he could. His life was one of integrity, fortitude and strength and he always added his wonderful sense of humor into the mix. If you were lucky enough to be a part of his life, those memories will become treasures that last forever. Richard is survived by his wife Connie, daughters; Linda (Bill) Steen, Kathy (Jeff) Szal, Colleen Mudie, Patricia Hagerty and step daughters Kim (Steve) Dineen, Tammy (Kurt) Johnson and Tracy Fardink. Also surviving are 11 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren Liam Marszalek and Jack William Carr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Maureen, his brother Thomas and many aunts, uncles and first cousins. The families would like all of the staff at Warren Manor to know how grateful they are for the loving care that they provided during his stay there. Thanks also to Lakeland Area Hospice. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. You may leave words of condolence at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
