Obituary of Sarah G. Deyell

Sarah G. Deyell, 82 of 130 Fairview Ave., died Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at UPMC Chautauqua. She was the widow of William A Deyell, whom she married Aug. 14, 1957 and who died Nov. 18, 1997. Sarah was born May 21, 1937 in Washington County, Pa. and was the last of 17 children of the late Charles R. and Ressie Shrader Bane, Sr. A cook for many years, she had been employed by the Brocton Diner, Falconer Diner and the former Aldo's Restaurant in Jamestown. Prior to her illness, Sarah enjoyed going to Bingo, dancing, singing and being with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her amazing cooking abilities, her beautiful smile, her strength, her generous heart and most of all her gracious love for her family. Surviving are two daughters: Barbara J. Deyell, with whom she resided, and Elizabeth G. Deyell; seven granddaughters, seven great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, one grandson, eight brothers and eight sisters. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14th in the Lind Funeral Home.
