Obituary of Margaret J. Youngren

Margaret J. Youngren, 69, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully with her husband and daughter at her side on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. Margaret was the daughter of Nandor and the late Margaret Haller Maurer. Born July 23, 1950 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, they moved to Jamestown in 1958. A 1969 graduate of Jamestown High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Dave, on August 22, 1970. That same year she graduated from Continental School of Beauty Culture in Olean, NY. Margaret greatly loved cooking, fashion and her career as a hairdresser. She enjoyed connecting with her clients and helping them feel good about themselves. Over the years, she worked at Bigelows, Towne Barbers, and Price Cutters. Margaret was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter and Paul Church. Margaret is survived by her husband, Dave; her father, Nandor; and her daughter, Kirsten Youngren and her husband Phillip Miller of Fairfax, VA. Preceding her in death was her mother, Margaret Maurer. We, Margaret's family, wish to express our deep gratitude to the Hamot MICU staff for their care and support over the last several weeks. At the request of the Margaret, visitation will not be observed. A memorial service will held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials may be made to the Hamot Health Foundation Nursing Fund (https://www.hamothealthfoundation.org/donate/nursing-excellence-scholarship-fund); or the Chautauqua County Human Society (https://chqhumane.org).
