Obituary of Kathleen E. Ellis

Kathleen E. "Kitty" Ellis, 73, formerly of 15 Hall Avenue, died Friday December 20, 2019, in UPMC Hamot, Erie. A lifelong area resident, she was born November 25, 1946, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late James and Mary Bellamy Korby. She graduated from Panama Central School and later earned a bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Buffalo State College. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer and a Sunday School teacher. She was on the board of the Southwestern Independent Living Center and the Resource Center's Family Empowerment Committee. Surviving are 2 sons Trevor Ellis of Jamestown and Lucas Ellis of Jamestown; 2 stepsons Christopher Ellis of Jamestown and Mark Ellis of Portland, OR; three grandsons Dylan, Jacob and Isaac Ellis and a brother James (Sheri) Korby, Jr. of Athens, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Ellis May 4, 1995. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald Haglund will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
