Obituary of Marlene J. Hornstrom

Marlene J. Hornstrom, 80, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 7:20 am Tuesday, December 31, 2019, in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, she was born May 3, 1939 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Clarence L. and Jane E. Johnson Larson. She was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a member of the Viking Lodge. For the past several years she enjoyed spending time at the Adult Day Care Center. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and a collector of many things especially pendelfin bunnies. Surviving are her three children; Kevin (Becky) DeMarco of Jamestown, Denise (James) Webber of Dade City, FL, Laurie (Richard) Harrington of Jamestown, 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, a brother, Charles Larson of Scottsdale, AZ and a sister, Martha LaBarbera of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wendell A. Hornstrom whom she married August 29, 1969 and who died April 8, 1992, a son, Christopher J. DeMarco who died August 13, 2004, and infant daughter, Melanie Lynn DeMarco and her sister, Nancy J. Nold who died September 25, 2019. The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. James Webber, her son-in-law will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.
