Dr. Lynn was a good friend of ours-my parents, my husband and I. A very kind and good person-he welcomed us when we came back to home town after medical training. His patients and the hospital staff all loved him.

Many happy memories of time spent at the old cottage on the lake and the weeks of recuperation in Jamestown many years ago. Cousins are special

I was a very frightened 10 yr. old boy when my parents took me to WCA in the middle of the night with an appendicitis attack. My folks told me I might need "an operation" and surgery. I was so scared that when I woke up in post-op, I was screaming "Don't operate, don't operate!" and tried to sit up with the pain from stitches and staples across my abdomen indicating something had happened. Dr. Lynn gently laid me back against my pillow while smiling and chuckling in a reassuring voice: "Don't worry son, you've already had your operation and you are going to be just fine now". I still am fine and that was fifty years ago.
Later on, I got to meet him again when I worked for a local company installing docks on Chautauqua Lake. Once I realized whose dock I was working on, I told Dr. Lynn my story about that operation and thanked him for bailing me out of a tight spot that night. He smiled and mentioned he didn't really remember it, but that he was happy to have helped me. He was skilled, humble, and kind... a great person who lived what I'm sure was a wonderful life. We are all the better for having had someone like Dr. Lynn with us.

It is thanks to Dr. Lynn that I am alive and walking today. It was back in 1966 that cranking a farm tractor in gear took me through a wall and nearly severed my leg destroying the main artery. At the time Dr Lynn was the only surgeon with the expertise to repair with an artificial artery and make the repairs. He said he didnt know what the outcome might be but a little more than a year later I was in the Marine Corps running over 6 miles a day. I still remember his smile and assurance I'd be ok when they wheeled me into surgery, that I'll never forget. I pray today he's in Gods loving arms and ar peace as I was that day myself.

The family of Lee 'Barney' Kellogg (1932-1995) extends to each of you our sincere condolences in the passing of such a great man as 'Dick' was. He saved my husband's life!!
He operated on my husband, 1987, something which he had warned my husband 6 yrs prior, he needed; It was a circulatory difficulty; and he saved my husband's life.
On a lighter note, the surgery was difficult, lengthy, and we paced waiting... Doctor came out to say he was out of surgery; in recovery; and they were waiting for his 'awakening.' AND WE PACED; 2 hrs later, doctor came out and said: 'Lee woke up and thought he was DEAD; and his pressure shot up highly; so, we had to wait a little longer for him to calm down!' I still laugh over that. In any event, it gave him another 8 years of life; and MOST IMPORTANTLY, HE CAME OUT OF HOSPITAL A NON- SMOKER (SOMETHING I HAD BEEN PRAYING HE WOULD DO LONG BEFORE HIS SURGERY!!!! )
Another thing to thank 'Dick' for; you should be so proud of his wonder career; and from what I read, a lovely long life.
Sorry for this; but, you will now have an idea why he was so important to US!
Stay strong; I know you will. Talk to him every day; you will 'feel' him around.
