Obituary of William K. Wigley
William K. "Bud" Wigley, 89, formerly of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday January 7, 2020 surrounded by his family in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, Gerry, NY.
He was born October 14, 1930 in Syracuse, NY the son of the late William H. and Justine Kenyon Wigley.
Bud was a graduate of Southwestern Central High School. On April 1, 1949, he started working at Marine Midland Bank. In 1952, he was inducted into the US Army, serving for 2 years. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Marine Midland Bank until his retirement in 1995 as Vice President of Commercial Loans.
He was a member of the Jamestown Noon Rotary; Treasurer of the Jamestown Audubon Society; Jamestown Lions Club; SCORE Program; mentor with Chautauqua Striders; Jamestown Red Raider Sports Boosters; and the YMCA. Bud was an avid golfer and with his friends formed the ROMEO Club (retired old men eating out).
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Barbara Bollman Wigley; two daughters: Martha (John) Grilla of Jamestown; Mary (Jay) Titus of Falconer; a son: Robert Wigley (Laurie Ardietta) of Honeoye Falls, NY; seven grandchildren: Matthew Titus, Sarah Titus, Kate Ledbetter, Brian Smith Jr., Danielle (Eric) Farren, Danielle (Jake) Carrier, and Alex Ardietta; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Jane McCray of Greenhurst.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Richard Wigley; and a grandson, John M. Grilla.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday January 11th in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Sam Pellerito will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. (two hours prior to the service) Saturday in the funeral home.
