Obituary of William G. Shearman

William G. Shearman, Jr. 60, of Lakewood, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 27, 2019, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born December 19, 1959, the son of the late William G. and Ruth J. Henkel Shearman. Bill was a 1978 graduate of Southwestern Central School where he played football for the SWCS Trojans and was on the track team. Bill also attended Northwood University in Michigan. He was well known as an accomplished guitar player and an expert guitar technician. Bill played in several local bands including, Little Guise, Miami and Total Chaos. Bill also toured with the Tracy Wilson band out of Virginia. In previous years he was employed as a district manager by the Post Journal and worked for Kwik Fill. Bills family also owned Swanson's Potato Chips for a time. Anyone who knew Bill will remember what a kind soul he was and would help out anyone he could. Bill will be deeply missed by all of his friends. As per Bill's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or visitation observed. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Lind Funeral Home.
