Obituary of Catherine A. Lundell

Catherine A (Lord) Lundell, 90, of Fluvanna Townline Road died January 30, 2020 at home after a brave fight with cancer. She was born August 23, 1929 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Myrtle (Hooper) Lord and Samuel E. Lord. She graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1946 where she was known as "Kitty" and then graduated from Jamestown Business College in January 1948. She went to work for Dr. TJ Holmlund. After working for him, she substituted for several doctors in the area over the years. She was a member of the Fluvanna Community Church where she was involved in Ladies Aid, Release Time for Elementary School Children and was a past historian. She was a board member of the Fluvanna Cemetery Association. She served as a Girl Scout leader during the 1950's and 1960's. After Roger retired, they spent 28 winters in Cape Canaveral Florida. She is survived by her husband of 71 years Roger D Lundell, whom she married on June 27, 1948 at Fluvanna Church; two daughters Cheryl (Richard) Johnson of Maple Springs and Betsy (Christopher) Carosa of Honeoye Falls NY; 7 grandchildren Sonja (Elie) Nenonene, Jeremiah (Susan) Johnson, Sarah & Charlotte Johnson, Cesidia, Catarina & Peter Carosa and one great grandson Isaiah Johnson. The family would like to thank the team from Hospice for their special care. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
