Obituary of Diana L. Dean

Diana L. Dean, 81, of 39 Flagg Ave. Jamestown, passed away at 2:34 pm Sunday, February 2, 2020, in the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family. A lifelong area resident, she was born January 30, 1939 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Martin and Frances Fedorsic Misck. In earlier years she had worked as a cook for the former Triangle Restaurant. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Diana Young of Jamestown, with whom she made her home, a son, Ned E. (Michelle Hines) Dean, Jr. of Kennedy, NY, six grandchildren, Ashley (Alberta Acevedo) Young, Mark (Felicia Simpson) Young, Jr., Kevin (Sabrina Platt) Young, Nicole (Dan) Nelson, Lauren Dean, Lindsey (Andrew Davis) Dean, 13 great grandchildren and a sister, Annette Mitchell of MD. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ned E. Dean, Sr. whom she married February 20, 1965 and who died November 19, 2005, a sister, Helen Stalter and her son-in-law Mark A. Young, Sr. who died June 19, 2015. The funeral will be held at noon Thursday, February 6, 2020, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Phelps, hospice chaplain will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville, NY. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
