Obituary of Raul Vazquez

Raul Vazquez, 78, of Jamestown, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020, in the Absolut of Westfield. An area resident for the past 40 years, he was born February 27, 1942 in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Juan and Carmen Silva Vazquez. Before his retirement he was employed by the former Crawford Furniture Company for several years. Raul will be remembered as a very talented mechanic and builder. He enjoyed being under the hood of a car and making everything work. He also loved being outside and walking around the neighborhood with his dogs. He was a family oriented man who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family. Surviving are his children; Maritza Vazquez, Jose Gilot, Luz Martinez, Jorge Rivera, Dioselyn Cortez all of Jamestown, Jacqueline Vazquez, Raul Vazquez, Jr., both of Allentown, PA, Paul Vazquez, two sisters; Genoveva Rodriguez, Pura Vazquez Silva both of Hormigueros, Puerto Rico, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Vazquez, three brothers; Guen Vazquez, Angel Vazquez, Osvaldo Vazquez and an adopted brother, Arturo Vazquez. The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Alfonso Pagan, pastor of Neuva Vida Covenant Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-7 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
