Dawn, you may not even remember me, but I am Margaret Milanovich. We were buds in third grade at Lindbergh Elementary before you moved to Jamestown. I remember that we were building a project (a fort I think) for social studies class and it was due the next day. I still can remember your mom . . . pretty, smiling, sweet, and so friendly. We were running out of time and the project was due the next day. Miraculously, your mom called my mom and was able to talk her into letting me spend the night for us to finish the project. My mother, a teacher herself, was very strict and I couldn't believe that your mom had convinced her to let me stay. If you recall, one time my parents drove me to Jamestown to see you after you moved. I don't know how we lost track of each other, but for the past fifteen years or so, I have attempted to locate you. I googled your name last night and there was your beloved mom's obituary. I am so very sorry to hear that she just passed earlier this month. Even in her picture, I can see that the warmth she exuded never left her. If you had not put this obituary online, I may have never found you to tell you this. If you don't remember me, that is okay. What IS important now is for you to know that your mother's warmth was so strong that it has stuck with me for over half a century. I recall thinking that you had the exact same qualities as your mom. If you remember me and want to touch base, I can be reached at 817-917-7907. I know you are going through a lot right now, so I don't expect an immediate response. Take care, and MAY YOUR DEAR MOTHER'S MEMORY BE ETERNAL!

Dawn, Monte, Roger and family, John and I are so saddened by the news of our beloved Shirley’s passing. She will forever be remembered for her laughter, warm heart and kind soul. We are so blessed to have had her a part of our lives for the years she was #1 in charge at Lewis Refrigeration and beyond. Just the mention of her name brings a smile. We will miss her greatly. Love to all of you.

My first job at Alltel was working with Shirley in accounting. She was warm and welcoming and so much fun to be around. She was a mom, a grandma and good friend all rolled into one and I cherished the time we had together. She had the best laugh and smIle. A great lady loved be all. Though we lost contact over time I always have good thoughts and memories of Shirley. My deepest sympathy to her family - I know how much she will be missed. She touched so many lives.
