Obituary of Gordon H. Martin
Gordon H. Martin, 88, of140 Aldren Avenue, formerly of Winterhaven, FL and Bemus Point, NY, died Thursday March 26, 2020, in his home.
He was born October 30, 1931, in Jamestown, a son of the late Carl and Svea Martinson Martin.
He was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School.
A Korean War veteran, he served in the US Navy from 1950-54.
He was a member of Falconer United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and on the financial board.
His other memberships include the Vikings, Moose Lodge, Thule Lodge, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Samuel Derby Post #556 American Legion.
He was an avid jigsaw puzzle solver.
Surviving are his wife Dolores "De" Olson Martin, whom he married March 18, 1988; two children David (Cynthia) Martin of Tonawanda and Lynette (Frank) Bercik of Waterford, PA; two grandchildren Andrea Martin and Rachel Bercik; a great granddaughter Cassidy Bercik; four step children Donald (Pam) Fredeen of Derrick City, PA, Ken (Donna Jean) Fredeen of New Jersey, Timothy (Jill) Fredeen and Robert Fredeen both of Florida; eleven step grandchildren and a sister in law Gloria Martin of Jamestown.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister Betty Lawson; sister June Young; brother Kenneth Martin and a step daughter Sandra Morrison.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
