"Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience".
Ralph Waldo Emerson
My friend, Rose, understood the secret of patience as she lived her life thoughtfully with all those around her at all times. She valued her relationships and truly cared and listened to others with kindness and interest. These amazing qualities, and many others, carried over to Rose's role as a teacher of children. She was dedicated to teaching students about nature and our influence on the environment. I frequently reflect on the conversations and time spent with my colleague and friend.
I miss you so much, Rose!

Our family lost one our dearest souls, my Aunt Rose. She was an amazing human being, a person who both sought and reflected beauty. She personified connectivity. In her life she looked to find the best in what surrounded her and to inspire the best in what hid inside of all. She had wit and wisdom that did not require a password to enjoy. She never failed to be entertaining, while at the same time, never intruding upon another’s stage. She welcomed me into her warm persona without pretense or prejudice. She did that with everyone.
I will forever be thankful for her genuine laugh, for her way of asking about me and then intently listening to my answers in a way that made me feel understood.
I will so fondly cherish the way that she and my uncle honored and supported each other throughout their amazing journey together, bringing out the best that they each had to offer.
Aunt Rose, made a positive difference as a teacher, as a friend, as a bridge between generations, as a champion of history, a patron of artistic expression and as a believer in human goodness. I will forever be inspired by Rose Stark, and it is my most sincere honor and duty to strive to shine her light as I go forward.
Bodies are vehicles we ride for a time, but the love we spark in the time we travel, that will always go on.

I had the pleasure of working with Rose as the other “schoolmarm” at the Harmony
Historical Society schoolhouse the past two years. “Miss Rose” made the children’s
visit to the one room schoolhouse a truly unique, unforgettable learning experience.
I will deeply miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends
during this difficult time.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Rose. What such a lovely, sweet person. In addition to seeing her at local theater performances around town and at Audubon events, it seemed she and I shared a passion for finding "treasures" at our local second hand stores, where we would frequently run into each other. lol. Bless her beautiful soul.

I met "Miss Rose" when my 4th grade class visited the Harmony Historical Society the past two years. She taught my classes what school and life was like in the past. She stepped easily into the "schoolmarm" role and we all enjoyed our time with her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her husband, family, and friends during this difficult time. May God grant you grace and peace during the days ahead.
Sincerely,
