Sue and family, Al was a very special guy. His eyes twinkled and he gave you his full attention. It was obvious he loved fun and yet had so much depth. His talents at Zion came out in so many projects as he helped support the children's program s the girls were growing up.
His knowledge and love of nature was so inspiring. Personally, I will always remember his kind concern when my husband passed. He would always ask to see how I was doing.
I never heard him complain and was so impressed by that because he had a lot of pain to deal with. The memories will be hard at first but they will become priceless treasures. May you be blessed with his words (and jokes) in your hearts forever!
Love, Kathy Hall

I worked with Al at the old Cycle Shop on second st. back in the early 70’s. I’m sure he told you stories of the fun times we had then and if they seemed too far fetched, believe me his stories were all true ! Friday nights were the favorite night for the crew down the street at his parents restaurant. I’ll never forget the veal parmigiana there, excellent ! He was such a good guy and had such a great sense of humor. I know he will be sorely missed by family and friends. Our sincere condolences at this sad time. Les and Cheryl Johnson at the Hollyloft.

Al was always a friend of the Fenton History Center. He was always ready to help the Fenton with over-sized copies, locating historic maps, questions about little known aspects of city infrastructure, his own and general Italian heritage, and many other subjects. Al was easy to like and will be greatly missed.

To Sue, my old friend Mary, and all of Albie’s family — I always loved seeing him. Throughout school I admired his artistic talent, and later his sensibilities to Chautauqua County’s natural world. Visualizing today the spring flowers around the Ellington home, and sadly thinking how lonely it will be there without him. As a legislator, I could always recognize his hand on maps of county parks. I will never take the Riverwalk again without thinking of his contributions to this Jamestown treasure. Peace. Albie was a peaceable man.
