Obituary of Joan B. Morrison

Joan B. Morrison, 81, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully Thursday May 14, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 25, 1938 in Rumford, Maine the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret Milligan Boucher. Joan was a 1957 graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, Maine and was a member of the theatrical group The Footlight Club. From January 1981 until her retirement in January 2002, Joan was employed at Cummins Engine where she proudly worked on the first L10 engine and had perfect attendance prior to her retirement. Earlier she worked at the former T James Clarke Box Factory. She looked forward to spring every year so she could plant and tend to her flower garden and enjoyed watching the birds that frequented her feeders, especially the Hummingbirds. She had a love for hallmark movies and liked to "party like a heartie" while watching her favorite show, When Calls the Heart, and drinking a margarita. Joan had a wonderful laugh and you couldn't help but laugh with her. Every year, she traveled back home to Rumford, Maine to visit with family and to get her fill of lobster and scallops for the year. She had many adventures camping on Mooselookmeguntic Lake and fondly remembered a trip to Nova Scotia with Mary and Dick. Joan was a skilled crafter and made many projects over the years, including several large cross stitch pictures which hang in her home. Don't worry mom, we won't speed, we'll watch for the deer, and we'll call you when we get there.
