Obituary of Ronald D. Bull

Ronald D. Bull (RB) of Denver, Colorado passed away June 16, 2020 at home under the care of Hospice of Denver, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 29, 1957, a son of the late Donald W. Bull and Mildred A. Milliron Bull in Jamestown, New York. Ron was a 1975 graduate of Jamestown High School where he was active in class plays and was on the Red and Green Yearbook Staff serving as co-editor. Ron was a loyal employee of Paychex, Inc. for the Denver and Miami, Florida offices prior to his retirement in 2019. He also was employed with Sovereign Circuits, North Jackson, Ohio; Rondinelli Tuxedo of Youngstown, Ohio; Sears Roebuck and Company of Lakewood, New York and with the CL Carnahan's Clothing Company at store locations in Jamestown, NY, Warren, PA and the Chautauqua Institution. He was also the co-owner and proprietor of the Broad Street Antiques in Newton Falls, Ohio. Ron proudly served as a volunteer with the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida and the Mile High Freedom Band of Denver. He enjoyed camping, collecting antiques, gardening, baking and crocheting. During his lengthy illness he crocheted many afghans for friends and family and over 300 "chemo caps" that he donated freely to University of Colorado Health Center Anschutz Cancer Clinic. Ron was a loving, caring and giving person and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his husband Gary L. Hoffman, with whom he would have celebrated 34 years together on July 5, 2020. They were married February 16, 2015. He is also survived by a sister Jerri(Chuck)Telford of Jamestown, NY; brother Chuck(Jo) Bull of Apollo Beach, FL; mother-in-law Madeline Hoffman of Newton Falls, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Aprile Hoffman of Poland, OH and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by "sisters from other mothers": Nancy Newhouse of West Palm Beach, FL; Barbara Newhouse of Port St Lucie, FL; Mary Halpainy(Jeff) of Knoxville, TN and Pam Lindell(Homer) of Warren, PA. As per Ron's wishes, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be celebrated in various locations at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Jamestown Lions Club, Mile High Freedom Band of Denver or the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Ron's family would like to thank the medical staff of UC Health and Hospice of Denver for their compassionate and loving care of Ron throughout his treatment and transition.
