Obituary of John A. LaMancuso

John A. LaMancuso, 91, of Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2020. A lifelong area resident, he was born September 5, 1928 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late John S. and Jennie Amatuzzo LaMancuso. John was a graduate of Jamestown High School and in earlier years had worked for the former National Worsted Mills where he was a pioneer working with ban lon fabric, teaching employees how to weave. Before his retirement he was an executive sales manager for Inter Royal Metal in Warren, Pa where he worked for 39 years. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Circulus Club, The Celtics Club, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, War Vets Recreation Club, Jamestown Elks Lodge and the Warren, PA Moose Lodge. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and Papi to his loving family. He loved cooking, baking, entertaining for family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of almost 61 years, Carrie M. Restivo LaMancuso, whom he married July 4, 1959, a daughter; Johnna (Mike) Walker of Frewsburg, NY, a son: John "Buddy" (Lisa Dzialo) LaMancuso of Morristown, NJ, five grandchildren; Michael J. Walker, Mallory Walker both of Buffalo, NY, Jacqueline LaMancuso, Jennifer LaMancuso, Juliette LaMancuso all of Randolph, NJ, a brother: Sam J. (Dorothy) LaMancuso of Jamestown as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Ignatius F. "Nay" LaMancuso, Michael A. LaMancuso and a sister; Marian L. Trass. Due to the restrictions on public gatherings caused by the coronavirus outbreak, a private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Public visitation will not be observed.
