Obituary of Robert D. "Bob" Skinner
Robert D. "Bob" Skinner, Sr., of Sinclairville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020 at his home.
He was born in July of 1956, in Honolulu, HI, a son of the late Ernest O. Skinner and Ellen Skinner.
Bob attended Frewsburg Central School and was a member of Charlotte Center United Methodist Church.
Before retirement, he was a truck driver for Gypsum Express, LTD for many years. He loved driving truck with his buddies. Bob was also a 5 Star mechanic for many years and could drive anything with wheels and an engine.
Bob loved spending time with his grandbabies teaching them about everything. He enjoyed bowling and singing karaoke, and loved to sing "I Got you Babe", "Sweet Caroline", and "Turn the Page". He learned to play the slots after his and Martha's trip to Las Vegas where he hated losing her all of the time and not knowing where she was. Bob loved his dogs and had a secret love for chocolate candy. He was a thrill seeker and always loved a challenge. He couldn't stand sitting on the sidelines letting someone else do all the work. One of the many things he will be remembered for is his unforgettable laugh.
In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by his wife, Martha Verrett Skinner, whom he married June 25, 1994; three children: Robert Skinner, Jr., Justin (Shawnette) Bimber, Trisha (late Fred) Myers; 11 grandchildren: Ranea Turner, Zachary Bimber, Caleb, Cadence, and Connor Thompson, Christian Adams, Aaden, Bryson, Michael, Adrianna, and Brianna Myers; two brothers: Richard (Natasha) Skinner, Ernest E. Skinner; one sister Elizabeth Hanson; a cousin Marie Crosby; several nieces and nephews; and good friends Bruce (Sue) Penhollow.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his uncle Edward Skinner and a son in law Fred Myers.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the Lind Funeral Home. Mr. Charles Wittenbrook, pastor of the Charlotte Center United Methodist Church will officiate.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
In accordance with NYS mandates, masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
