Obituary of Deborah R. Anderson

Deborah R. Anderson, 65, of 564 Front Street, died Wednesday August 12, 2020, in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born May 11, 1955, a daughter of the late Harold and Florence Van Order Olson. She was a 1973 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned a degree from Alfred State University in 1978. As a juvenile diabetic, Debbie took a keen interest in science at an early age. She worked as a lab technician at WCA Hospital for 27 years until complications from her disease forced her to retire in 2003. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, nature and bird watching and will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. More than anything she loved spending time with and talking to her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband Timothy Anderson, whom she married June 2, 1978; two children Emily (Aaron) Compton and Kyle (Kassandra Prunty) Anderson both of Erie; three grandchildren Caleb and Everly Compton and Kendrick Anderson; a brother Mark (Megan) Olson of Jamestown; a sister Beth (Don) Bloomquist of Jamestown; brother in law and sister in law Michael and Nancy Anderson of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Dana Olson. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
