We send our loving condolences to all of your family. We knew that Kerm was incredibly dedicated to both to his immediate family as well as his extended family and friends. He would spare no lengths to give a helping hand -- again and again! His great smile, his sense of humor and zest for life will continue to lighten up our world.

To Kathy,Sue,Jody and family
Most important Elsie and I would like to share our condolences
There are too many good times to share them all but recent times were shared when Kerm visited us in Florida. All of our Florida friends knew it was party time whenever Kerm was arriving! A highlight.....Kerm brought “KORV”packed in dry ice from Jamestown, the Korv Grinder, the pig skins, and all the spices . Our friends we’re ecstatic watching me pushing in the Korv Into the grinder and Kerm cranking it through the pig skin and tying into desired lengths. Next we had to “SKOL” with GLOGto a job well done!! Needless to say a good time was had by all . The next night all came for the dinner event,KORV,mashed potatoes ,gravy, hardtack, lingon berries and the beat goes on & on!! It is hard to believe Kerm and I were best friends for at least 70 years. We could have written a book however many of our times were not for print. :)
To top it off your mom (Janet ) & my wife Elaine were best friends.
MEMORIES....MEMORIES
GOD BLESS
D

I am related to Kermit through Nels Peter (Pa) Nelsons in Jamestown (by way of Kermit's mother, Ingeborg). I met Kermit on a trip to Jamestown with 3 Florida cousins a few years ago. He showed us around his nice home on the pond. Over these few short years, he shared family stories and history with me so that I could add it to my genealogy. One day he "butt" facetime called me and we chatted again. Such a sweet man. I regret that I didn't meet him sooner. Rest in peace Kermit, and thank you.

Bob & Jan Fredrick posted a condolence

Dear Sue, Gene, Jessica & all the Johnson family. This is Bob & Jan Fredrick from Jamestown. We want to send our heartfelt condolences to each and everyone of you. Bob just ran into your dad at Walmart, and they had a real nice visit. Your mom & dad were very special people. We remember them opening their doors and having us over to their home. Good people, good times and of course good food! We are sure they are walking hand in hand on streets paved with gold in heaven. God only takes the best, and they were all of that. Even though we don't keep in touch, we always remember the good times we had. Take comfort in knowing that you are in our thoughts during this very difficult time. May time help to heal your broken hearts...
Lots of love, Bob & Jan Fredrick❤

Ellen and I are saddened to hear about your Dad’s passing. We are fortunate to have often felt like an extended part of your family. I never needed a personal Tom Sawyer, Kermit was always there to shanghai me into helping with his next great project. I remember sculpting the swimming pool, not once but a second time after rain collapsed the walls.
Highlights of our many memories. Parties at your parent’s house, including hijacking the beer truck after a WK family picnic and sending it to Mitchell Road for a swimming party. The many excursions your Dad so enthusiastically organized: weekends at Letchworth, Bills games, and golf outings to name but a few. And Denny being my personal agent to find me just the right Corvette and Cadillacs for Ellen.
