Obituary of MaryAnne Dietrick

MaryAnne Dietrick, 78, formerly of Lakewood, New York, peacefully earned her wings Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. A lifelong area resident, she was born March 28, 1942 in Jamestown to the late Alfred and Constance Zannelli. MaryAnne was an Avon Sales Representative for many years and earned several Presidential awards for her impeccable amount of sales. She also worked for Pete Kote Realty and Cobblestone Reality before starting her own successful reality business 'Rainbow Realty of WNY' which she owned for over 20 years. She was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, the Lakewood American Legion Auxiliary and several women's clubs. Spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and friends, was always important to her. MaryAnne was a devoted member and Eucharistic Minister of Sacred Heart Church. Her interests included cooking, baking, socializing, casino trips, traveling, dancing and going to the beauty shop. Surviving is John Dietrick, Jr. of Frewsburg, NY; a sister, Dr. Debra K. Nagurney of Warren, PA; her four children: Debra A. (Daniel) Greene of Lakewood, NY and Jacqueline M. Dietrick, both of Lakewood, NY, Lisa M. (John) Ruiz of Coconut Creek, FL, and John A. (Christine) Dietrick III of Frewsburg, NY; and 8 grandchildren: Andrew R. Greene, Danielle A. Greene, Drake A. Greene, all of Lakewood, Christopher Gullotti of Jamestown, Sandy Lombardo of Falconer, John Ruiz of Windsor, NY, and Ethan Ruiz and Evan Ruiz, both of Coconut Creek, FL. MaryAnne's family would like to thank all the staff, nurses and aides at Heritage Green for the wonderful care they provided their mother and grandmother. "The Heritage family will always be an extended part of our family and will forever hold a special place in our hearts for the compassion and care the staff provided for her." They also thank Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care for their wonderful compassionate care during the final stage of MaryAnne's life. Observing COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing, the family will receive friends on a 'walk-through' basis from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Masks are required. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Lakewood, NY. The Rev. Piotr Zaczynski will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heritage Green 'Connections' Dementia Care Unit, P.O. Box 400, Greenhurst, NY 14742; or Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
