Obituary of Nancy C. Marano

Nancy C. Marano, 84, of Jamestown, passed away at 12:55 pm Saturday, October 3, 2020, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. An area resident for most of her life, she was born August 27, 1936 in Silver Creek, NY, a daughter of late Joseph and Josephine Cammarata Dolce. In earlier years she was associated with her first husband, Pat Ciccarella, owning and operating Pifer's Grocery in Lakewood, NY. She also worked as a nanny for several families. Nancy was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and in later years was active at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to cook and bake for her family and also loved to work in her garden and travel. Surviving are a daughter; Cheryl Ciccarella (Patrick) Hayes of Jamestown, NY, a son; Charles J. (Vicky) Ciccarella of Erie, PA, two grandchildren; Brent Charles Ciccarella of Pittsburgh, PA, Katy Anne Richey of Dallas, TX. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Pasquale C. "Pat" Ciccarella who died February 21, 1989, her second husband, Anthony S. Marano who died May 11, 2015 and a brother, George Dolce. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. The family suggests that memorials be made to Chautauqua County Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 West Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY, Holy Apostles Parish, 508 Cherry St. Jamestown, NY, or to the Lutheran Foundation, 715 Falconer St. Jamestown, NY 14701.
